Galaxy Note 3 Features 5.99-inch Super AMOLED Display

Reports this week have indicated that the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 will have a 5.99-inch Super AMOLED flexible display. The “Phablet” will have a larger display than the previously rumored 5.7-inches, which was reported earlier this year. News also came out that the device will enter into production in August to be prepared for a September launch. The decision to change the screen has come due to the lack of expected sales coming from the Galaxy S4. Samsung is also […]

8 young adult novels worth reading that AREN’T movies

Following up to my last post about how young adult novels have taken over the big screen, I wanted to remind everyone that there is still plenty of (relatively) undiscovered members of the genre out there, as if you didn’t know. So I decided to sit down and recommend some of my favorite young adult  novels that aren’t as popular as Hunger Games, Twilight, or Harry Potter, but are still worth the read. As before, this is not an exhaustive […]

Under The Dome, did Simpsons do it first?

Last night the CBS Network launched the premiere of their new summer drama, Stephen King’s Under The Dome, based off of the hit novel of the same name by the same person (Stephen King). But here’s what no one has ever told CBS apparently… The Simpsons have already done it. Now I know that’s not an exact quote from South Park, but it’s true… “Simpsons did it”. In the 2007 movie, The Simpsons Movie, the town of Springfield was trapped […]

Jim Carrey: Kick Ass Comedian does not support his Kick Ass sequel

So here’s the thing. Jim Carrey. He’s a very funny individual; been in a ton of movies and television shows, some with violence, some without, has with withdrawn his support for a movie he is currently co-starring in! Jim Carrey will be featured in the sequel to the 2010 hit superhero phenomenon, Kick Ass. Kick Ass 2 comes out in the US on August 16, 2013, but following the massacre at Sandy Hook elementary, Jim Carrey rescinded his support for […]

Dragonball Z, Pokémon, Cowboy Bebop, and many other staples of the anime industry are now just great nostalgic memories we all have in our hearts. It has been over a decade since we had a anime that truly captivated the world over. Could it be because we have run out of fresh new ideas to captivate the audience? Is it the end of an era for the iconic Japanese art style? There have been shows that have proven there are […]

The Digital Detox- The Cat Gifs Will be there When You Get Back

Ok folks, look to your left. No, your other left. What do you see? 9 times out of 10, it’s going to be a cellphone. This little piece of tech has people more connected than ever; a couple swift button clicks and you have plans set up for later tonight, sent 7 important emails, and liked a cat pic on Facebook. But, the question needs to be asked, how connected is too connected? The ability to interact with people on […]

  • Shadowhunters, Transfers, and Tributes, Oh My: YA Continues to Rule the Silver Screen

Shadowhunters, Transfers, and Tributes, Oh My: YA Continues to Rule the Silver Screen

It’s no secret: Young Adult is one of the most popular genres of novels. From Ender’s Game to Harry Potter, YA novels are beloved by teenagers and adults alike. Now, turning these novels into films has become the latest crazy in Hollywood. It’s hard to pinpoint exactly when this really started taking on steam, but in my opinion, you can thank such series as Harry Potter and *gag* Twilight for the success. So who is going to take up the […]
