App Spotlight: Tidy

We live in an age where our entire lives are documented in pixelated data. These pictures find their way to the likes of Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and for the random awkward kid in the corner Google +. Once the pictures reach those social networks they find their way into finely curated albums for easy access. But what about when they are still in your phone? Most devices do not have the ability to arrange photos on the device into easy to access albums. That’s were the new app Tidy comes into play.

Tidy is an easy to use app that helps organize your photos with only a few quick swipes. The pictures start off categorized as “untidy” and then its up to you to set up the appropriate albums. The albums are completely customizable and allow for the wide array of photos that people take to be categorized properly. Album options include everything from date and time settings, all the way to the type of photo: panorama, portrait, landscape and the like. Once the pictures are categorized, you can use Tidy to post the pictures to whatever social network you choose.

The way that the photos are grouped within the albums is also highly customizable. Pictures can be arranged in either 3 or 4 columns or in a collage format. The arrangements help keep the photos easily accessible and easy to find at a moment’s notice. The only downside remains that Tidy does not have an easy way to share entire albums with other users at present. It’s a future that could be added in a future update but there have been no announcements as of yet. Confirmed upgrades include themes, an album backup and sync service and support for collaboratively curated albums with your friends. Some of the features may be reserved for a premium edition, but nothing has yet been confirmed.

Tidy provides users with an easy to use interface and a centralized location to store their photos. Tidy provides the ability to organize your digital picture life better than most apps out on the market. Tidy provides the ability to easily share the newly organized photos across your various social networks. Tidy is definitely worth the download. Tidy is available on the App store and Google Play for free.
